Australian Polaroid-to-4×5-rangefinder camera modifier Razzledog built a prototype 4×5 SLR! He says:

I have long had dreams of building a 4×5 SLR……so this prototype is currently under review. The advantages are finally the image is right side up, so I no longer have to stand on my head….. I don’t have to worry about any parallax issues so I get perfect framing without fear of any cropping……and interchangable lenses are no problem. It has bellows so awesome macro is also permissible…

  1. This is Razzledog….4×5 SLR is still only part of the whole picture…When I get the bellows thing happening I will be able to shoot 4×5 macro as well.
Polaroid Razzle is still number one camera, Obsession 617 is number two. 4×5 SLR is number three at present.

  2. The 4×5 SLR finally found its forte. It now has a Phase One scanning 4×5 back inserted into the Razzlok. By lowering the mirror and viewing/focusing the subject on the ground glass, then raising the mirror, it’s ready to scan. Easy to operate, it produces one ultra sharp, big gigabyte image that will knock your socks off!
