Using a coded exposure sequence, the new flutter shutter camera could recover text from a speeding car and sharpen images, according to the researchers.<\/p>\n<p>Introduced in early August, three Mitsubishi Electric researchers presented the abstract, &quot;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.merl.com\/people\/raskar\/deblur\/\">Coded Exposure Photography: Motion Deblurring using Fluttered Shutter<\/a>&quot; at the largest computer and graphics conference, Siggraph. After one year of research development, Mitsubishi Electric Research Lab (MERL) senior researcher <a href=\"http:\/\/www.merl.com\/people\/raskar\/raskar.html\">Ramesh Raskar<\/a>, MERL visiting researcher <a href=\"http:\/\/www.merl.com\/people\/raskar\/agrawal.html\">Amit Agrawal<\/a>, and Northwestern University computer science assistant professor <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cs.northwestern.edu\/~jet\/\">Jack Tumblin<\/a> launched the new prototype with the goal of deblurring photos.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.digitalcamerainfo.com\/content\/Mitsubishi-Electric-Develops-Deblurring-Flutter-Shutter-Camera-Partners-with-MITU-of-Toronto.htm\">Continue reading<\/a> this article at DigitalCameraInfo.com or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.merl.com\/people\/raskar\/deblur\/\">read the paper<\/a> at Mitsubishi.<\/p>\n<p>The sample photos are nothing short of jaw-dropping.
