I’ve put together an index of film codes/edge markings, data sheets links, available formats, large format notch codes, and more, for every photographic film in production that I could find info for.
Please email me with any corrections or additions! (Include a link to your Web site, if you have one, so I can credit you in the contributors section.)
The index is here on Photon Detector (in the Tools & Reference section).
An update listing instant films will follow soon. Enjoy!
Great work Mr G!
I have a few different kinds of 4×5″ kicking around that I’ll check for notch codes and scan for you when I get a chance….
Wow – that is great. Looks like a lot of work, so… thank you. I want to print your index out and post it on my wall in place of the girlie photos.
(Honest aside: I don’t actually have girlie photos on my walls anymore, not since college – it just sounded right. ….shows where my head is at…)
Thanks, Matt!
Suuure, Stormy… likely story. :)
Can we add tungsten film codes as well?
All the films I can find are listed, both daylight and tungsten. I am thinking of adding a WB temp column as well. Is that what you mean?
Actually, I was hoping to find a listing for Kodak EPT 6037. Or was it 6037 EPT? Anyway – that’s the code. I don’t know the name of hte film because I bought it epired and cheap and now I’ve exposed it so all I have to go on is the code. It’s a chrome and I thought it must be a tungsten because of the “T” in there and because of its behavior. Very funky colors, when processed in C-41. That’s what I meant.
Never mind – I did find EPT on your list (Kodak Ektachrome – and it is tungsten balanced). I still don’t know what the 6037 is all about, but it’s not a big deal.
Sorry for being a bonehead.
